This is Chase's last week of at-home school, according to Mrs. Meyer's email. Chase has been a little trooper but it's been hard on him. He's gotten even more attached to Tee Tee and his stuffed animals as a way of coping with the lockdown and the closing of school. Nanaw still plans to do some school during summer break but only an hour or two. The rest of the time will be doing fun things. Today, Chase did morning work, three pages of handwriting and lots of pages of math. Uncle Mike came to cut the grass, and Nanaw was talking to him out in the garage for a long time. Then Uncle Mike said, "You'd better take Chase home -- it's already 5:30." So Nanaw called Mama to apologize for losing track of time and telling her they'd be home momentarily. When Chase and Nanaw got home, Chase went to change clothes, and Mama whispered to Nanaw that Daddy was outside putting together a scooter he bought for Chase. Chase went outside to see it, and he was very excited. Nanaw took a picture of him standing by the scooter.
