Chase had the day off from school on Friday; school was closed for teacher in-service. Nanaw had planned for an adventure to the Science Center but Chase kept saying he didn't want to go. He and Nanaw played downstairs for a long while, then Chase played in his room. He managed to spread many of his toys on the floor of his room -- LOL. About 1 p.m., Chase announced to Nanaw that he wanted to go to Powder Valley so they did. On the drive there, Chase fell asleep. When they got there and he woke up, he was still sleepy but excited to be there. Inside, they visited a lot of his favorite places, including the snakes and the turtles (more on the turtles later). He also visited the bug area, the treehouse, the library, the bees, the puppet area, the aquarium and the computers that show all the conservation areas. He drew a picture of Powder Valley turtles and had Nanaw draw a picture of a fish. On the way home, Chase told Nanaw he wanted to write a book about the turtles at Powder Valley. So that's what Chase and Nanaw did when they got home. Chase brought paper from Powder Valley and stapled it in a book, using the stapler in Pawpaw's room. Chase wrote the first four pages and drew pictures. Then he delegated the rest of the book to Nanaw. When Chase got home, he gave the book to Daddy to read. Then he gave it to Mama. Chase said Mama and Daddy had to write a note thanking him for the book and then they had to make their note into a book. What an interesting little boy he is!
