Nanaw went to Walmart again on Friday and spent another $30 on kinetic sand for Chase -- they're both obsessed with kinetic sand. On the way home from picking Chase up from school, they stopped at Schnuck's. Chase saw a stuffed peacock there so Nanaw took a picture of the peacock and sent it to Mama. Nanaw was very happy that she got bonus time with Chase on Friday evening. Mama and Daddy were going to Songs for Soldiers, and Nanaw got to baby-sit. Nanaw had the kinetic sand all set up on the kitchen counter, and she and Chase played with it there for several hours. At one point, Chase wanted blankets so he could make a lake on the living room floor so Nanaw gave him three blankets. Then he pretended the blankets were a bus, and they were headed on a camping trip in Chase's room. He dumped his bag of stuffed animals on the futon for the camping trip. Then he decided to go back and play with kinetic sand. After dinner, he played with the sand again. Finally, at about 8 p.m. Chase wanted to play on the laptop. Nanaw was very happy that they had managed five hours of no laptop. She's been concerned that he was spending too much time on the computer so that's why for the past couple of weeks she's been planning other activities for them to do.
Chase's second grade class collaboratively wrote a story about Arthur the aardvark; Mrs. Meyer made a video of the class reading the story and showing the pictures they each drew of Arthur.
