When Nanaw picked Chase up on Monday morning, Mama showed her the comfy bed she fixed for Sam in Chase's room. Chase decided to try out Sam's bed so he lay down in it -- Nanaw took a picture of him, of course. Chase was excited about turning his Young Authors' story in today. He wrote about the Smoky Mountains and made up a story that was part fact and part fiction -- very wonderful. Chase was also excited in the afternoon after school about the arrival of his second Dog Man book. He got the package off the front porch and ran to Nanaw to have her open it. He sat on the couch and read the whole thing to himself. NEXT, Chase and Nanaw went through her cats' toys so they could pick some out for Tyler. Chase put a bunch of toys on the floor and lay down with them, pretending he was a cat -- so Nanaw took a picture of him being a cat. On the way to Chase's house, Nanaw told Chase Mama wouldn't be at home when they got there because she was picking up her ring. Then Chase said, "I love Mama." He's such a dear, sweet boy.
