Mama said Chase was doing a little better on Sunday morning so she was sure he would be able to come to Nanaw's house for Mother's Day dinner. Chase, Mama and Daddy got to Nanaw’s house about 4:45 Sunday afternoon. Mama brought in a box full of presents for Nanaw. Uncle Mike, Aunt Becky, cousin Nichole and Irina worked outside on Nanaw’s Mother’s Day present: two new grape vines, tomatoes, cucumbers and lots of flowers. They made a little netted cage for the grape vines to protect the grapes from the birds. There were only eight for dinner: Robbie and Lindsey spent the day with their mother; Joey had to play baseball; and Kris was working. Uncle Mike grilled hamburgers, hot dogs and chicken. Aunt Becky brought party potatoes. Mama brought a chocolate pudding layer dessert and cheesecake. Nanaw provided Caesar salad and fruit salad. Chase spent a lot of the time laying on the sofa. He also watched the Blues hockey game and the Cardinals baseball game. For awhile, Chase and Daddy played baseball in the front yard. Mama’s presents to Nanaw were a rose-scented Yankee candle; three new Alexas, a jigsaw puzzle of a photo of Chase and Nanaw and an Amazon gift card. It was a wonderful Mother’s Day.
