Chase stayed home from school again today. Mama said he coughed all night long and didn't get much sleep. Nanaw forgot to take her regular pills before bed and forgot to set her alarm. She had a horrible night's sleep and didn't wake up till 6:30. She told Mama she had a doctor's appointment, and Mama suggested that Chase stay home and Nanaw could pick him up when her appointment was over. So that's what they did. Chase's teacher put his work out in the box, and Mama went up to school to pick it up. Chase did all of the homework that he could do and the reading. He had done AR at home in the morning, and he did Narnia and Number the Stars in the afternoon. The teacher didn't send some of the stuff he needed to do all of his homework. At 4:30, Nanaw remembered that his Weekly Writing was due tomorrow so she had him work on it. When she read it over for him, she told Chase that he'd left out a lot of things, and that he could make it better. He refused and Nanaw refused to fight with him. When she took Chase home, she told Mama about the writing, and Chase got mad. Daddy talked to him and calmed him down, and he redid the writing. Mama said it was better but still not very good. Nanaw said that hopefully the teacher would make suggestions and comments, and Chase would pay attention to that.
