Nanaw got to babysit with Chase Saturday evening. Mama and Daddy were going to a firemans’ dance in Waterloo with Theresa and Dave. When Nanaw got there, she and Chase played kick in the kitchen, one of Chase’s favorite games. He’d found some balls at Nanaw’s house and wanted to play kick there but Nanaw was afraid the balls would break things so she put them away. After kick, Chase and Nanaw went into his room to play with his mega blocks, his latest obsession. Several times Nanaw would take him into the bathroom for him to sit on the Thomas potty chair but still no luck. Finally, he went one drop so he got a chocolate coin in celebration. He promised to go another drop "tomorrow." Before bed, Chase watched about half an hour of the movie Babe, and he was absolutely mesmerized by it. When he went to bed, Nanaw had to lie on the floor next to his bed. Several times, she thought he’d fallen asleep and tried to leave, and he called out "Hey!" and then "Come back!" It was very funny. Mama and Daddy got home about 10:30, and Chase and Nanaw were still awake. Mama took over floor duty then and Nanaw went home.
