Thursday was cleaning lady day so after Nanaw picked up everything and put it away, Chase and Nanaw went downstairs to have school. They took Chase's stuffed animals down with them so they could all have snuggling time after reading time. It's so cute to watch Chase reading the Answers book. He get interested in what he's reading, and he stops reading aloud and reads ahead silently. Then he comes back to the part he'd been reading aloud and picks up right where he left off. He seems very engaged with the fact-based articles in the Answers book. Nanaw is grateful that she found it in the box of books Uncle Doug gave Chase. For school, Nanaw had Chase do extra pages in the Summer Bridge books and the Journeys book. She tries to mix things up for school every once in awhile so that it grabs Chase's interest. Nanaw is glad that she's doing school with Chase; it's good for both of them. Nanaw had Chase home by 5 p.m. today because he had a baseball game. Nanaw went to watch the game and was happy to see Tanya, Debbie, Michelle and Becky T. She's missed seeing all of them. Chase did really well during the game. He got at least three hits and fielded at least two balls really well. What a great little baseball player he is.
