Chase had the day off on Friday because the teachers were having special meetings. He actually has a four-day weekend because Monday is Columbus Day. Chase came over to Nanaw's house for the day. They were supposed to go for a walk in the morning but it was too chilly. After lunch, they went fishing at Nanaw's lake. Things didn't go too well. At first, things were working. Nanaw put the red ball bait she bought at Walmart on Chase's rod. He managed to make a couple of good casts but then his line broke. The other fishing rod got its line all twisted up. Nanaw got that one fixed but the other one had a problem with the line. So Nanaw will have to ask either Daddy or Uncle Mike to fix them. In the afternoon Chase worked on his homework. He has to do a book report that's due October 19, the day before his class goes to Memphis. He chose the option that's called a book response. Out of a list of 10 items he has to choose five to do. So far, he's worked on: an acrostic; a word cloud using 15 adjectives to describe one of the main characters; and a to-do list with 10 items on it for another main character. He has two more to do. In the evening, Mama, Daddy and Chase went to the last game of his baseball team.
