When Nanaw took Chase to school, she went to look at the baby chicks. So far, five of the six eggs have hatched. Mama called Nanaw in the morning to tell her that Grandma Pat was in the hospital; they think she had a mini-stroke. Daddy went out there to St. Joseph's in Lake St. Louis to be with her. Wednesday was Nanaw's day to volunteer in Chase's classroom. When she got there, she helped Sami and Amelie with their addition of 10. Then she helped everybody make their flip books about Mrs. Wishy Washy. It was lots of fun. When the boys and girls went out to recess, Nanaw got to watch Mrs. Herrmann transfer a couple of the chicks into the big blue bin that has a light to keep them warm and seeds to eat and water to drink. After school Chase and Nanaw went to the little park by the library to play with Andrew and Brady. In the evening Chase had baseball practice. Mama brought Sam along, and Nanaw took him for a walk on the walking trail by the ball fields.
