When Chase and Nanaw got to Nanaw's house on Monday morning, they planted the basil seeds in the barrel where the tomato plants are planted. Then Chase used the hose on Nanaw's car and had a great time trying different settings -- he loves that sprayer attachment thing. Nanaw has realized something about summer school for Chase: She may be trying to get him to do too much work in too short a time. The priorities are subtraction and cursive handwriting. So those two things will be on the agenda each day. Morning work, spring prep, fancy pages and reading can be added in sometimes. Every once in awhile Chase could read from his religion book or the history booklet for his reading assignment. Nanaw thinks his reading should be nonfiction books and articles that will teach him new information. He really does enjoy the Room 9 programs on Channel 9 and pays close attention to what the teachers are saying. When Chase got home, Daddy told him Mama was making stuffed shells for dinner and did Chase want to help her. So Chase went into the kitchen and stirred the meat and cream cheese mixture. Mama said he could help stuff the shells but Nanaw doesn’t know if that really happened. Later in the evening, Mama texted Nanaw that the stuffed shells were pretty good, and she would fix it again.
