On Sunday, Mama wrote out a list with Chase's schedule for the week so that Nanaw would know when to bring Chase home. When Nanaw picked Chase up, they went to Chase's house rather than Nanaw's house. Chase had a cross-country meet at Zimmer Park in Waterloo, and they had to leave at 3:35. This was Nanaw's first trip to a cross-country meet. And she was very excited to go. There were all kinds of parents and grandparents at the park for the meet. Nanaw got to talk with Alaina's grandparents and Joey's grandparents. It was great fun. Mama and Nanaw walked over to the starting line to watch the racers. The fifth-grade girls went first, and Alaina is really fast. Nanaw really enjoyed watching Chase run. He puts his heart into it, and Nanaw was so proud. When Chase got home, he did his English homework -- he had to do vocabulary words for the book they're reading in class -- Holes. Then he was going to hockey practice. Mama texted Nanaw that Daddy said Chase is now on a hockey team with other players who are at his level, which is a really good thing.
