When Nanaw picked Chase up from school on Wednesday, he told her he didn't bring his math book home to study for Friday's test so they'll have to study after school on Thursday. He also told Nanaw that he had a caveman painting in history due on Friday. He brought home a piece of crumpled brown paper (representing the wall of a cave) to do the painting on. He said he could only use things that the cavemen had -- like fruits, mud, grass, etc. He made a plan and then carried it through. They got out dirt, frozen blueberries, blackberries, strawberries and raspberries and took it all outside to the driveway. They mixed the dirt with water to make mud. Chase had a great time making the painting. He picked some leaves to make trees and bushes and put the fruit on the bushes. He used the mud to color the bottom of the painting, then used mud to stick the leaves to the page. He did a really good job, and Chase and Nanaw had a great time doing the project.
