Chase and Daddy went to church on Sunday morning. When Chase got home, Mama got out their matching Scott Trade Blues tee-shirts so they could dress alike and be matchy-matchy. Nanaw made pork chops and chicken in dressing, along with Caesar salad to take over to Chase's house for dinner. Nanaw said Chase had to have a bite of everything, and he did. After dinner, it was time for what Chase calls Family Game Night. He selected the game Hot Potato for the group. Daddy was the reader of the questions off the cards. Mama said they had to play according to the real rules, which she read to everyone. Nanaw did not know that they'd previously been playing by incorrect rules -- very funny. Chase lost, but for a change, he didn't seem to mind. After game night was over, Chase and Nanaw played with the giant eyeball that Aunt Becca bought for him. Then they went into Chase's room and read "Twas the Night Before Christmas" -- several days late but charming all the same. Later in the evening, Mama sent Nanaw a text inviting her to go shopping and to lunch at Tequila's on New Year's Eve day, and Nanaw happily accepted the invitation. When Nanaw left for Chase's, Sidney Crosby the Cat was lying on Pawpaw's bed, watching Hallmark movies, and that's where he was when Nanaw returned.
