On Wednesday morning, Mama called the pediatrician's office and made an appointment at 11 a.m. for Nanaw to take Chase because of his earache. The office only had two doctors there today so Chase and Nanaw had to wait an hour to see the doctor. She said Chase had an ear infection but she wasn't sure whether it was swimmer's ear or not. She prescribed an antibiotic and asked Chase if he wanted pills or liquid medicine. He said liquid, and Nanaw told the doctor that earlier he had said he hoped he get the bubble gum flavored medicine. The doctor said that was exactly what he was going to get. On the way home from the doctor, they stopped at Sonic to get lunch for Chase. This was part of Nanaw's summer lunch plan: Once a week, probably on Wednesdays, Chase and Nanaw will go out to lunch. Today, Chase got two orders of pretzel twists and a Sonic Blast with M&M's. Nanaw doesn't really like Sonic's food so she didn't get anything. Chase said the pretzel twists were the best ever, especially with the cheese sauce. Today, school was from 1:30 to 2:30 and from 3:30 to 4:30. Chase suggested that for the second hour, they should go downstairs to the schoolroom so that's what they did. Once again, school went wonderfully, despite Chase's earache. They did lots of math: long division flash cards (starting with the easiest ones first), long division problems and multiplication problems. They also did reading comprehension, parts of speech and punctuation. They didn't do any Spanish today but will do it tomorrow, and maybe they'll do some social studies using the online program Chase studied in fourth grade. Chase had baseball practice tonight, and Nanaw hoped that the antibiotic would make him feel better.
