Chase's adventure for Thursday was another lunch event. This time Chase and Nanaw had lunch with two of Nanaw's best friends from Edward Jones, Kate and Kelly, at California Pizza Kitchen in West County Mall. Chase and Nanaw got there a little early, and Chase explored and became fascinated with the escalator but Nanaw didn't let him go on it then. Chase was extremely well-behaved at lunch and did his best to charm Kate and Kelly. He ate lots of crusty bread and for his meal, Nanaw ordered an ice cream sundae -- bad Nanaw! The sundae had vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, a cherry and what Chase called sparkles -- they were really chocolate sprinkles. He colored with the coloring book and colors the waitress gave him, and then played games on his Leap Pad. He really seems to like the Leap Pad and has fun with it. After lunch, Chase and Nanaw very carefully rode the down escalator. But then Chase didn't want to ride the up escalator. He wanted to explore the mall, and they did that for awhile. Then Nanaw found another up escalator right next to some vending machines. She got some gummy bears for Chase and used them to lure him very carefully up the up escalator. Successful mission!
