It snowed a lot on Saturday night, and on Sunday -- five inches in Columbia according to the measurement on Nanaw's deck. In the morning, Chase helped Daddy shovel the driveway with his red snow shovel that came from the little house. Later, Chase, Mama and Daddy went to Aunt Becca's and Uncle Stan's to go sledding on the hill at their new house. Mama said Chase had a grand time and didn't want to stop. Mama even went down the hill on one of the sleds. They also built a snowman holding a beer can, and threw snowballs to Buddy (Aunt Becca's dog) for him to catch. After the sled adventure, Chase, Mama and Daddy came over to Nanaw's house to visit. Daddy shoveled Nanaw's driveway, and Chase had a good time watching him, especially when Daddy threw shovels full of snow in the air. While Daddy shoveled, Mama, Chase and Nanaw went into Chase's room to play with his toys. He got out his two pianos and was playing songs. When Chase got home, he and Daddy and Mama went outside and built a snowman in the back yard. They used the snow man kit from Uncle Chuck and Aunt Kristin -- a carrot nose, a red and green hat and scarf, plus eyes and mouth -- very cute. In the evening, Nanaw's furnace stopped running but she brought up a space heater to get her through the night before she called the repairman in the morning.
