Chase’s adventure today was a trip to Powder Valley. At first, Nanaw thought they wouldn’t be able to go because it was raining early in the morning. But then the rain stopped, and the sun came out. First, Chase and Nanaw walked on the long trail, the one that’s 1 1/5 miles long. For the first half of the hike, Chase ran ahead of Nanaw, excited to find the numbered benches. Then on the last half, he started lagging behind, stopping to play with leaves and sticks and acorns – very cute. When Chase would reach one of the fences and gates on the trail, he would run through the gate, throw his arms in the air and say "I win!" After the hike, Chase and Nanaw went inside the Nature Center to see all the displays. Chase visited the puppet room, looked at the fish in the aquarium, got excited to see a live snake in a glassed-in cage, pressed the button to hear the sounds the big black bear makes, and operated the elevator for two trips upstairs. After leaving Powder Valley, Chase and Nanaw went exploring and found another park, one that’s on the Meramec River. Chase seemed to really enjoy standing by the river, and of course, he didn’t want to leave. When Chase got home, Mama gave him a new Thomas shirt and a Thomas bath toy that she bought online for him, and he didn’t want to stop playing with the bath toy.
