Friday's major adventure was a trip to the St. Louis Zoo for Chase, Mama and Nanaw. Early in the morning, it rained but then the rain stopped and didn’t' return till late afternoon. When they got to the Zoo, Chase wanted a map so Nanaw took him to the map machine, and he opened the lid and took out a map and began to look at it. It was very cute. They went to see a lot of their favorite animals: penguins, puffins, polar bear, giraffes, zebras, elephants, hippos, tigers, cheetahs, turtles, and more. They rode on the train, although at first Chase said he didn't want to ride on the train. On the way out, Mama bought two big bags of kettle corn, Nanaw's favorite. Their last stop was at the gift shop where Mama bought Chase a squishy toy that Nanaw doesn't understand. Nanaw bought another bag of rocks (Chase helped her pick them out) and a navy blue fanny pack. After the zoo, they went to Walmart to get the rest of Chase's school supplies; Mama also bought him a cool navy blue windbreaker with a hood that will go with his uniforms. Nanaw didn't go out to dinner with them because she was full of kettle corn. Nanaw will find out from Mama on Saturday where they went -- she wanted to go to Merz on Main and was trying to convince Chase.
