Thursday was one of the biggest days in Chase's life: It was his first day of kindergarten. Even though he'd gone to Pre-School and Pre-K, kindergarten marks the official start of his real educational life. Nanaw came over to Chase's house and went with Mama and Daddy to take him to school. At school, Chase hung his backpack in his locker, then everybody went into the kindergarten room to do the scavenger hunt. Mrs. Hermann had containers all over the room for the children to put the supplies they'd brought (like Kleenex, glue, markers, etc.) Mrs. Hermann took pictures of the boys and girls with their families. Mama had a few tears in her eyes, as did Audrey's mother. Mama and Nanaw took Sam for a walk and then went shopping after coming back from school. They went to Walmart, IKEA, Macy's and Penney's. Mama, Daddy and Nanaw went to pick Chase up from school. He said he had a good day at school and that he had cheese pizza for lunch. He played baseball with Daddy and Mama and told Nanaw she could be the audience.
