Chase and Nanaw had a great time at the Train House Wednesday morning, their last visit there before Chase starts kindergarten on Thursday. Miss Linda was very happy to see them. Nanaw told her it was the last time they'd be there because of school so Miss Linda was sad about that. But Nanaw promised they would come on Chase's first day off school: Tuesday, September 5, the day after Labor Day. Chase and Nanaw played with the magnet blocks for awhile, and then they went into the kitchen and had all kinds of pretend meals. Some little children, younger than Chase were there playing also, and for the first time, Chase was good to them. Maybe the little fellow is growing up. They also played with Miss Linda's decorated box, taking her stuffed animals for a ride. Then they went to the crafts table, at Chase's request, another unusual thing. Chase and Nanaw each made an ice cream truck with people. After the Creation Station, Chase got his usual popcorn, and they went to visit the caboose. When they got home, they played downstairs for awhile. Then they brought Chase's tent and camping gear up to the living room and brought his kitchen and food and dishes there also. Chase put all his stuffed animals that he brought from home in the tent, and he and Nanaw had a pretend camping trip with his animals. It was lots of fun, and Nanaw continues to be delighted by Chase's imagination and the things he pretends to do.
